Take a look at these, they are NC21's Image Notice the opening for air to get to the diaphragm is in the body of the carb but on mine it stick out into the venturi opening.

So they are different carbs


EDIT:

Here are the numbers that i could see.

Engine: NC13E-103**62 (pm me if need the to ** numbers)

Carbs: AOA A (in a square) AF]
Make: KEI HIN

Also moulded on the side is VF and near it the number 20

Interesting point Cammo... I had a few too many beers last night to make a sensible reply.

AOA A

That isn't NC21 carbs that I know of.. VDOA are NC21 carbs.

VDE A - D are NC24 carbs.

Your right about the stacks.. but no stacks? Not heard of that before, sounds like its more desgined to run with an Air-tray.

I'll have a look through my parts books and manulas see if I can trace these carbs.

There not HRC parts though (for 21/24 at least...)

Weird :-)

Not sure how you'd got about setting that up properly either seeing as it isn't like anything i've come across....

They were running fine that i could see,

I stripped and cleaned them due to the choke not working and as i got everything else done, i thought i would clean them.

It was only when cleaning them and asking more i sort of needed to set them up as cold starting was an issue.

I dunno what to do, Ill leave it upto you 2 to discuss and then advise me on it more.


EDIT: The code could be ADA A as it is very faint and hard to see if it was a 0, O or D

You'll have to see how it rides on the road and go from there. if its ok I wouldn't 'fix' it :)

I will get her on the road soon, still waiting on your clutch part if you have it :P

When i cleaned them, i did the pilot screws at 2 turns each.

One was 5 or 6 out, rest were 3 or 4, would that have caused problems with the starting?

4 turns... hmm.. just a thought (and a mistake i've seen peope do quite often) Are you counting full turns or half turns?

4 "half turns" is the equivalent of "2 turns."

For example,

If you screw is Horizontal to start with

(-)

You want to turn it all the way around anti-clockwise so it is horizontal again (180 degrees)

(-) This is half a turn.

Then you want to turn it aroud again (anticlockwise still) so it is once again horizontal (360 degrees)

(-) This is 1 full turn.

I think at 5 - 6 full turns they might just fall out... they'll just be very rich, i.e. you wont' need choke to start it...

2 turns is a good place to start

It was definately 4 and 6 full turns (the 1 screw looked fully out and the others were out more than 2 turns)

I counted 4 x 1/2 turns to get it set when i had cleaned and re-assembled

I AM GOING TO SCREAM!


After cleaning carbs, assembling bike and then filling the carbs with fuel they are leaking fuel faster than you can fill them basically :(

They are leaking from the bottom seals (1 is bad, 1 is medium others are just a few drips) so i will reseal these with liquid gasket.

But the worst one is the fuel is leaking into the cylinders, the rear right is the worst, there is already a pool of fuel in on top of the valve. What could be causing this.

I tried to set the float heights but not sure if i did them right as that guide you linked to made no sense to me :(

I have to get this MOT'd this week or ill be unable to afford insurance and then ill just have to sell :(
