Aluminium foil on fairings

I remember seeing ages ago on a set of fairings someone had stuck aluminium foil to the inside of them to help keep the plastic cool and stop the paint cracking from the engine heat.
A roll of foil is cheap, would you advise doing this to my fairings to help improve there life?

Rightio then, ill have a looksie in there trade catalogue
In screw fix they have Radiator Reflector foil but it has to be glued on
We used to use contact adeshive on the car chassis with the heat proof material and then taped the edges.
If i can find the foil tape then i could do the same on this with the reflector stuff as its only £7 for 5m

Just priced it up just under £20 for it, so going to do it and save money having to repaint the paintwork from heat damage.
Screwfix numbers:
35529 - £9.35 - tape
10612 - £6.86 - rad insulation
51081 - £2.99 - adhesive
