The Tyga website states the full Tyga system (+ larger jets) gave them an increase in power from 53hp to 59.9hp for the RVF so I was pleasantly surprised when I got my bike dynotuned last week after installing the full system to have a reading of 62.2hp. The jets were changed and washers were inserted under the needles, as well as cleaning and balancing of the carbs and cleaning of the air filter.. But other than this, I don't know of any other performance mods that have been done to the bike..
I'm content with the power my bike produces and have no intention to increase its power further as I'm still learning to ride.. Just curious as I thought 62.2hp sounds like alot, seeing that stock power is supposed to be 53hp at the crank (so power at the wheels should be lost.. plus the bike is 16 years old so I thought it would have lost a bit over the years as well!)
What are you guys getting from your RVF/VFR's?...
Also, is it dangerous to hit the limiter on these bikes every now and then? Where does the limiter kick in on these bikes with the stock ECU? (I think it's something like 15.2?)
Thanks :)
So how many horsies does your VFR/RVF have?

My old NC had 59 last time out..
I reckon my race bike might have low 60s, but I have yet to dyno it.

74 ish
The BHP figures will vary from dyno to dyno but 62 is decent for what you've done.
I would have thought hitting the limiter on a standard bike now and then wouldnt hurt it but remember the reading on a a standard tacho is a little out by the time its reading 15k, pretty sure its been tested to be as much as 1k out (over read) at the top end. I dont go above a true 14.5k on mine, i cant afford the mess its likely to cause of running that extra 1k.

I hit the limiter quite often, although it will make you slower than changing before you hit it.
Bike shouldn't blow up unless your extendedly driving over the limiter.
