BT090r vs Dunlop alpha 10 vs ??
Hello
I need to change my tire on my trackday nc30.it's only used on track, never on road. I want to keep the 18inch wheels.
I had some BT090r, wich I liked until this morning when I had a nice rear slide (no crash) :)
are the alpha 10 better or equivalent?
What would be the best tires for a NC30 used only as a trackbike?
thanks

18"...... gota be the Alpha 10's

If you can source them, try the Bridgestone Battlax BT-003RS, the successor to the BT-090. More track oriented, and the best grip in the BT range. I've got a pair and they eclipse the 090 in every area!

Personally, I'm a huge fan of 090s on my race bike (18") - massive amount of confidence. I haven't tried the Alphas, as they're difficult to get in Aus, but 090s shit all over the older GPR80s which the Alphas replaced. In my mind, the only alternative to 090s is slicks - but even then there aint much in it aside from skill.

Used both tyres on a 3 day trackday at Cartagena
I have always liked the 090 used them on my GK76A and CBR400 but took a punt and tried the Dunlops, never really liked Dunlop to be honest but hayho..
For me I ended up coming away after using a set of 090's and two sets of Alpha 10s liking the Alpha 10s more and I was quicker on that tyre so will be sticking with it...
The 090s will give you a warning before letting go don't think the Alphas have the same feedback but do have better overall grip..
Just my 2 pence

Re: BT090r vs Dunlop alpha 10 vs ??
I'm running BT090's front and rear, I'm getting on perfect with them, I had a rear end slide around a round about the other day but I put that down to too cold tyres and me going in a bit to hot. They give me plenty of grip all the way over to the peg.
I have noticed though that the outsides of my tyres are really rough, almost sand paper like, don't know if thats normal as this is my first big bike
