The beast lives , my NC30 with a VFR750 engine on the Dyno

Hello ,
I've had the bike for over a year now and not really done anything with it . It needed a few bits and bobs to get through the MOT as most hybrid/specials do , which I've now got done , so today was a quick trip to PDQ in Taplow for a power test .
It gave 89hp and 50ft/lb of torque at the back wheel which is there or there about for a VFR750fv engine ( the last of the carb ones ). Put that in a NC30 chassis , add ZXR750 forks and Ducati wheels and it goes like stink ( it's also got NC35 bodywork , except for the tank ).
Here is a picture of when I first got it . I like the Castrol colours as it doesn't really date the bike or gives a clue as to what it is.

good to see this bike is finally sorted saw it for sale on ebay uncomplete

have you got any pictures of the rear wheel and hub? is it a strait fit? or modified.

Spike I fitted a Ducati 3 spoke to the rear of my NC30 once.

The Chain needed to be moved over using a Rick O. kit, and the wheel was slightly modified to fit on a standard Hub. Also I believe a special spacer/centre nut was made to allow fitment onto the NC spindle.

Drunkn Munky - from what I can see the frame had not been modded in any way .
Dave - Yes if I bring it down to the next meet , you are welcome to take it for a spin , it does make a great noise when you really wind it up.
Spike16 - I was told when I brought it that the Ducati wheel had been modded to make it fit . I've also had to get the chain sprockets changed to 525 pitch , as anything wider and the chain rubs on the frame , so it is a tight fit.

If the good handling is retained, then an 89hp NC 35 can only be a very good thing, [Better than either a 400 or 750 ?] not so much for any extra top speed, but more in the way of pull throughout the rev range.

You did consider selling it before it was completed, are you now keeping it ?.
How do you insure it, modified NC35 or VFR750 ?

Just after I first got it I was dissapointed by it , as it was sold to me as a finished bike , but it turns out it wasn't. That's when I had it for sale as I knew I did not have the skills or money to finish it off . As I didn't have any takers I saved up for a few months and then put the bike into bike shop to get it sorted , obviously this cost me more money which wasn't in the original plan when I brought it . They fixed all the little niggles ( front brake switch , electrical problem , fork seals , choke not working , air box not sealing etc ) and fitted a new smaller chain and sprockets to stop the chain rubbing on the frame and MOTed it.
Now I've got it back and with a bigger fresh battery , and the dyno run to confirm all is OK with the engine , I'm now happy with it .
As for selling it , I'm not sure , I probably have too many bikes at the moment ( 5 in total ) so we shall see.
I've insured it as a NC30 ( as this is the frame and what the V5 still says ) , but with a 750cc engine and all the mods declared . I'm insured with Peter James and they were OK with it.
