NC30

Hi guys i am new to the forum and soon to be new to bikes (got my theory booked). i will be looking to get a VFR400 as a first bike, is this a good idea? i have been looking at the NC30's are they any good? and is there anything to look out for when buying one?

i will be looking to get a VFR400 as a first bike, is this a good idea? they are great bike and very forgiving,looked after and they will cause little bother,apart from the odd rec/reg charging problem,but they are great "first " bikes
i have been looking at the NC30's are they any good? strange question to log onto a VFR/RVF owners section to ask ! of course they are.
and is there anything to look out for when buying one? no disrespect here but alot of young first time owners tend to ride the bike and brush off maintainence ,skimp on servicing and fall off alot, so if the owner looks like he doesn't know alot about the bike of just comes across like he's more interested in doing 100mph+ then doing 50ft stoppies best not buy from him then.
look out for the usual
pitted forks
worn teeth on the chain adjuster ( if you do buy a V4 (VFR or RVF) buy the right tool to adjust the chain)
something with a little service history, most things can but fixed but there's no point forking out £1000 on a bike to then fork out another £1000 because you bought the first one you saw and didn't wait to find the best bike for your monies.
look on the site for members selling these bikes as they mend o look after them a bit more, and remember VFR's are better than RVF's !

They are great bikes - I bought mine 5 years ago as my first bike. Had a few other bikes but sold them all and still got my NC30.

They are the law. SOunds lovely, go great, built to last and are classic designs.

mine hasnt given me hardly any problems other than a corroded connection block.

i was gonna flog it and get an RVF but still deciding what to do...

i have found one that i like already but the lack of licence and no where to keep it is stoppin me from gettin it. all i need to do is sell my second car that is never used then i can get me a bike
