Hi all,
Im thinking of getting myself a cheap RVF and doing it up to look decent like my old one (that got nicked!)
Anyway ive got a few bits of fairing in the loft from the old bike but im in need of a nose cone/top cowl.
Im looking for parts in the RT paint scheme. ( where the rvf letters are written in yellow as oposed to White as on the RR model)
So i had a look on th david sliver website as the stock most of the parts.... i found the RR nose cone for 249 quid
http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/part_19887/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
its not listed on there for the RT so i called them up to check if the stock it... on enquiry the guy i was talking to said the RT version is 396 pounds!!!! whats up with that??
the only difference is the colour of the lettering on the fairing.
id understand if it was made of carbon fibre or something but its not so whats going on here?

Re: Inconsistent RVF Nose cone prices
No 'logic' in it at all I reckon, especially as the RR version has more to it. (part of the blue decal from the mid piece) Probably more people own the RT version so they can inflate the price. The right hand side fairings also cost more than left ones iirc, probably because more people crash on that side! Do you know if the decals are laqured over? Guessing they probably are, but if not buy that one, peel off the decals and order a yellow RVF decal for the front! Or for the same price that they are charging for the RT one you could buy a carbon one from Jap4!!
Good to hear your coming back to the 400s though Rob, will this be a track bike, or are you having this for the road and keeping the CBR for the track? you know the otherway round makes more sense!

RR is in stock and from a batch of new old stock.
the RT isnt and will be ordered accordingly hence the jump in price.

Re: Inconsistent RVF Nose cone prices
Hi joe,
Yes mate the decals are all laqured over on the nose cone.
well ive already got two bikes at the moment, still got the CBR which ive not had the road fairings on for most of the year now, and also i picked up a 600 hornet a few months back which i use to commute on. The hornet is great but i miss the 400 so was thinking of maybe getting a cheap 400 for a fun road bike and using the cbr on the track.
the only thins is the is hornet super practical for everyday use compared to a sports bike.
I cant keep and maintain 3 bikes plus i dont have the space so its two only.
At the moment im just weighing things up cost wise and trying to work out how much it would cost me to get and rvf sorted out for.
