Apologies about the bluntness however some kind of update, even if its a 'I'm still investigating feesability and costs etc' would help for those who were seriously interested in this prospect
Just irritates me a little when things get ignored. Sorry

That's ok Alex, sorry for not making it clearer that when there is any update it would be added to the bottom.
I know what you mean about irritating when ignored and when people fail to read whats been said !
Anyway i have an update for you now. After discussing with Liam, we have been playing email ping pong with the manufacturer, we have yet to come to an agreement regarding faulty or incorrect wheels, as such it seems too risky to proceed when in a true 400greybike manner, those that expressed an interest when it comes to putting money where their mouth is - vanish into thin air.
I certainly don't fancy risking a couple of grand on what could be wheels with no assurance from the manufacturer and customers that vanish or want it in bright pink with yellow spots posting to Alaska and wanting it for 2p cheaper.
So on that note perhaps its time to lock this thread off for now and resurrect should there be any progress or confidence in the manufacture and sale of the wheels.

Sorry guys for this, I am sad that this is not going to go ahead but I think that the risk is too high as we cannot get a guarantee from the manufacturer with regard to returns

Agreed, As Liam has said, it's not 100% dead and buried, but even allowing for a 5% damaged or faulty goods would return us out of pocket.
We could simply say £20 per wheel more but even more potential buyers who expressed a keen interest would vanish into the shadows at that point.

Would someone like Delkevic who used to make them not be persuaded to manufacture another batch if enough orders could be put together? Or did people not think much of them?

That's a bit of a poor show regarding the returns of defective wheels, would they have been tested before dispatch?

These were made by this manufacturer for them - hence why they wont accept any returns, and the delkevic ones - some were better than others if i recall. esp on the first batch.

Yup the company I was talking to was the supplier for Delkevik - however as said before we werent happy with the possibility of not being able to return any items of sub part quality (Not that there would be any I think - but it was a risk)

been following this. To be fair to the company, they would be making a special order item and they wouldnt be able to shift them if you didn't have them so i can sort of understand their point of view - however I think you have done the right thing as if there was no possibility of returns or credit notes etc then they have no incentive to do their best with every single item apart from reputation bla bla. I can remember the bike lift things everyone ordered.......
Could you ask for 1 as a sample and order on the basis if they were all the same spec and condition (assuming you were happy), there policy of no returns was fine, otherwise they should accept to compromise. Probably hassle you dont need though - so well done for getting as far as you did with it anyway.
