Been busy today, cleaned the carbs and adjusted the float heights, 3/4 were wrong.

They were pretty good inside, apart from the float heights anyway, this is before I started cleaning!

Tiny touch of dust in the very bottom of the bowls.

Then time to fix the wiring from removing the alarm, bit of soldering then wrap up with some decent[1] electrical tape

Then a bit of cleaning, with the heat shield removed the rear pipe is a bit ugly!

Also polished the exhaust and heat shield on the LHS

I went on a bit of a polishing mission, did the silencer and pillion brackets too.

I took off the subframe to fix the wiring properly, I've cleaned it up and as soon as I've cleaned up the mudguard I'll refit it.

[1] IMO not worth buying cheap electrical tape as it either doesn't stick or dies with in a short while.

Forgot to say, I was very glad to find that it hadn't been rejetted for the restriction kit either.

Been a bit pre-occupied recently so no movement until today.

Thought it was about time I did some stuff though so swapped the front sparkplugs for the new ones (I'd already done the back ones). I test fitted the hugger, cut down the two screen bolts that fouled the air tubes, removed the old mudguard and test fitted the new one, removed the brake lines and calipers and tried to refit the rear brake caliper.

Run into a stumbling block though, the HEL line has the wrong type of thread on the caliper end. Bugger. :(

Ooh its gettin there, is the bike in the kitchen? I'm after some black tiny pop-rivets for my screen atm

Yep, garage is external, has no power and full of other bikes, nothing like working in the warm comfort of the kitchen! :D

Getting it out will be a bit tricky, just need a few mates round to help out.

Hey Druid, I noticed in this pic that you left the lower air box attached to the carbs. Is that a common trick to avoid the hassle of lining it back up again on the carbs? The reason I ask is because when I assembled mine 3 out of the 4 carbs lined up perfect but one was a pain in the ass to get lined up. I'm going to leave it attached this time around because I don't want to have to fight it again.
