Re: CBR400RR exhaust thread
This is a HRC system for the NC23 as we said earlier (11 Piece)Yakama wrote:Why not HRC? Whats different about this one then?
By the way it seperates into more sections than shown in the pic there
and this is your one (7 piece)
as you can see on the HRC system just under the part that attaches to the head you can see that it is a seperate piece held on by springs...unfortunatly yours does not have this.
you can also see that the welds are diferent on the lower pic.

Re: CBR400RR exhaust thread
Cheers Tanuki,
It does have a separate part that attaches to the head, the collars are held on by springs. Do you think it is just a slightly different design take on an HRC system?

Re: CBR400RR exhaust thread
I don't believe that is an hrc system looking at it now. All the hrc systems of the era are 'mandrel' bent mild steel, and don't use welded sections for any individual part. The system above is press bent, the bent areas aren't circular.tanuki wrote: This is a HRC system for the NC23 as we said earlier (11 Piece)
I think that Yakama's system looks very similar to a typical hrc exhaust (virtually identical construction to my hrc nc30 system), hard to be 100% sure that is is though as it looks different to the nc23 version.

Re: CBR400RR exhaust thread
Carl,
That SS exhaust you turned down last week (still here after all) will clear a big rad - however it came off an NC29 with 2 nice ally rads - 1 top - 1 bottom - all rather trick.
Plus I have now got the special end can back from being completely rebuilt - new carbon sleeve / packing / strap / clamp etc.
Rads. need a little welding to the brackets where they have cracked - but all very usable.
£500 for the lot - that is the 2 ally rads. and all the plumbing - the race system and the reconditioned end can.
UK delivery £25

Re: CBR400RR exhaust thread
Thats tempting Graeme,I didnt mean to turn it down.Mark Hornsey rang and said he was sending the exhaust that went with the motor.I am a bit obsessed with weight, thought the Beet was the way to go.I might come up to the Humber to do a trial in the near future with North Lincs, how long are you in UK for.Think a proper chat might be worthwhile,if the pipe etc is still about I could call in.I will have a look at the trials diary,I often come past Brigg. Thanks for getting back, cheers Carl.
