Presume you have checked the basics - cable adjustment, idle screw adjustment?lizard821000 wrote:so befor i have to do the unbarable and take these fking carbs out(i have to anyways tbh)is this a logical resson why my bike could be ideling too high? iv checked for airleaks and have none, iv never heard of what im about to say but im asking you lads first, if say my pilot jet is bloked in one carb but im getting great amounts of air flow, you think its feesable that that carb might be jumping over to the next jet size , so increasing the revs that way. the carbs cylinder in question is getting much hotter than the other which seem fine, warm to touch pipes after a min of idel. the other is too hot to touch for long. being a vacum type carb which im not all that firmiliar with , just thinking out load to what else could cause a high idel with the hot pipe?
cheers guys

for sure mate, those where the first to be checked. idel adjustment is as far out as poss, so the throttle seat screw dosnt even touch it. cable does stick some but its a naked bike and i can see that it returns the pully back to its closed position.checked the choke is closing fully on the carbs too, again the bike is naked so i have a great veiw of whats going on. iv tryed a vein attempt to feel for throttle slides closing by holding my finger on the carb side and opening and closing the throttle,so you feel that little click/shock through your finger tip, can feel it seating inside when the engine is OFF. im just a little lost now mate tbh, common scence is telling maybe my carb slide diaphrame is torn or a similar issuse inside the carb, i have to pull carbs off to clean them anyways now but if i can sort the problem with them remaining on id be one happy son of bi***
i just cant think what else could cause the high idel.
