I would say it the circulatory holes near the butterflies (forgotten what they are called) that are blocked. I've had this problem and they were a bitch to clear. Blast an airline through them then give everything a good clean after.

I ask again, did it rev cleanly when you went to inspect the bike and ride it home.
If so, then forget settings/jetting/adjustments/modifications, as flooding or starvation could be the problem.
If you took the bike home in a van, was it secured to prevent bouncing around or any other possible damage.

If you are running up the motor cold with no choke or filter, then it will not pick up now, even if you have repaired the original fault [flooded/starved carbs?]
Fit filter, warm motor or apply 3/4 choke, it may well chime into life.

Hi.thanks for all the advise.I picked the bike up in a van.I heard it running but i didnt really rev it to be honest.my mate had to get home a bit quick so no time for a test ride.the man I bought it of seemed a genuine guy and had owned it for 4 years.on the way home the bike fell over on its side.when I got home took the bike for a ride.the bike idled poorly and wouldn't rev with a lot of throttle.if you wind the throttle on slowly the bike seems to pick up through the revs.I thought as it had gone over it could be crap in the carbs.they have been cleaned and the problems still there.

I have not cleaned out any airways near the butterfly's though?

My problem is I don't know if the problem was there before it fell over.

Don't mind z bit of a challenge but this is getting annoying.

Thanks

I think I know that bike and the owner, it always ran faultless with no problems and went well when I rode it.
Look to see if any damage was caused by falling over, it may have flooded, but alright now so if you run it up till it gets
hot it may pick up well.
He came past my house on the morning he sold it, and it was shifting like a bat out of hell.

If it wont pick up with clean carbs, then the plugs may be wet if carbs were flooded.
Probably only firing on 2 or 3 cylinders.
Check each ex pipe to see if they all are getting hot.

Just to clarify, which size jets did you put where? Did you check the needles are in the right way, as well as the emulsion tubes that the jets screw into as they are different front to back.
