You can get very far quite easy:
- Ricks subframes, for seat and the two front fairings ones=3 kg off.
- Magnesium wheels=1.5-2kg off
- Race fairings, just the plastics replaced=2-3kg off
- Alloy sprocket=o.5kg off
- Wavy rear disc=0.5kg off
- Hollow alloy handlebar tubes=1kg off
- All roadgear off (horn, blinkers, lights, sidestand)=5-7kg off
- Lipo battery=2-3kg off
- Tyga exhaust=3-4kg off
These things can be had for just money, no inspiration, graft or talent needed
and you saved roughly 25kg, then it gets involving......

Thanks for the detailed weight loss specs Ronni. I have my eye on an NC30 race bike that may come with a set of Dymags if I can swing it. May have to sell the road bike first though!

In honor of the Walking Dead returning this Sunday(in the US anyway!) Here's a thread from the dead!
Finally got my track bike all finished up, here's what's been done weight wise:
Rick-O subframes all around
G-force GSXR generator conversion
Aluminum Chinese Rads
No fan
Stripped down track harness
Shorai Li po battery
Two brothers full system
Wood craft aluminum clip ons
Fiberglass Track bodywork
As far as weight percentage, they are reversed compared to what the scale reads. Its actually 51.8 Front and 42.2 rear. This was semi-wet, about 1 gallon from full.

Reckon my carbon bodied gsxr4 will be lighter.

That's a good result for that spec (355 lb = 161 kg). That's 21 kg less than honda's quoted wet weight (182 kg in their 1988 press release: http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... 81206.html).

I was very pleasantly surprised to see that number on the scale. Especially after my friend put his SV650 track bike on the same scale with a lot less fuel and weighing 174 Kgs! Unfortunately he still beats me in overall weight since he's about 68kg and I'm around 86! Need to pull that bicycle off the wall...

I'll make it a point to put the bike on the scales once it's back together. I know we are pretty light but I don't know the exact number.

Whats the best way/method for weighing the bike, can i put a bathroom scale under each wheel and then add the two together, or will this give an inaccurate reading?
Am i better using one bathroom scale with a plank on it and then wheel the bike onto the ramp?
Can i even do it with bathroom scales?

Be handy if you could use bathroom scales, i reckon my PVM's, alloy rear axle and lightweight tank should tip the scales the right way.
