I already have a WP shock hence why I said there was no need to offer an alternative suggestions like an RS250 or GSXR shock!
The reason for my asking the question is that I bought the WP off ebay months ago and the seller said it was for an NC30 but I took it to Reactive Suspension yesterday for a service, Gareth took one look at it and said 'thats not an NC30 shock'. It turns out it's for a CBR600RR 03/04. The seller probably didn't know this as he was selling other NC30 parts so I've no reason to believe he lied, just that he took it off his bike so as far as he was concerned it was for an NC30. I'm just unsure whether it's the right length for the 30 and if it's a straight swap and if I'll need to get something made to fit it on. The new spring and service is on hold until I know whether I can use it otherwise it'll be going on ebay.

Re: 600RR rear shock on NC30
Why not just meaure it up against an nc30 shock?
You should be looking for a length of about 315mm. The top and bottom mounts will either fit or not, may fit with mods depending on the style of mount teh wp shock uses.
As for res, no idea where it's located on the wp shock, if it's remote there won't be an issue.

Re: 600RR rear shock on NC30
I looked fairly deep into this when i decided to change.
Seems that the shocks upto 07 have the clevis type fitting on one end as per the NC30.
But the resevouir hits the baterry tray and it needs to be moved back.
Apart from that, it's a go'er.(or so i'm told)
None of that matters to me cos am building me own subframe
"
This shock will fit straight onto a CBR600 RR 03/04 & 05/06, but it is also a great conversion for the RVF400/NC35. This shock is narrower that the standard RVF one so it fits through the hole in the Swingarm better and it gives far more ride height. This shock is 3 way adjustable with spring preload, compresion damping and rebound damping. Not only is this CBR shock lighter than the Standard RVF one but it also has a reservoir bottle on the left handside which is opposite the exhaust and so runs cooler than the standard.
To fit this shock to the RVF you will need to modify the subframe and seat unit slightly, and move the battery box further back. this will take a certain amount of mechanical know how so if you have non please do not bid. Also washers/spacers will need to be put on the upper shock mounting bolt.
Any questions call 0845 205 4646.

Re: 600RR rear shock on NC30
Thanks in particular to blodnob and cammo, thats just the sort of info I was after.
I would of measured my existing shock but I can't take it off as I've got nothing to support the bike without it. I need some axle stands for under the footrests ideally but don't have a lot of spare cash right now.
This morning I rang Reactive after reading this thread through and they too had looked into it and was fairly sure it would fit as it has a remote reservior so clearance is not an issue but it's still not a goer yet. Gareth at Reactive is going to open it up and check the valving as he's unsure whether it's suitable to use on an NC30. It will at least need a new spring as he would recommend a 150nm spring for an NC30 where as the one on there is 90nm. It might work out cheaper and better to sell it on and source one intended for a NC30.
