That is 100% Yamamoto and so no surprise that you needed it welding up. I have had 2 of those systems and the first one cracked and needed patching!!

They do polish up lovely as well...

You can see that the right hand one has had bracing added to it to prevent any more splits in the pipes.

Great systems, can be had very cheap but then need a link pipe to fit a can on....

so the rear manifold can be bought separately!

im quite suprised, i really didnt know all this,

so whats the story i always hear about you have to take the engine out to change an original exhaust is that bullshit because i didnt really struggle to get mine out, apart from a few universal joints on my rachet to get the rear header manifold out.

Yep, easy as.

Different sized universal joints/ratchet setups can make things a bit more awkward than it needs to be though.

Only the part pictured in my post is Yamamoto - the short manifold, the front pipes - theya re all std Honda.

This is what we call a half system. A 3/4 would comprise front pipes too and a full system would eliminate the stubby manifold.
It is only NC24s that need the engine out for the system to be removed.

I paid bugger all for both my Yamamoto half systems so I hope whoever sold it you never charged premium prices and told you it was Tyga....

Also - got to say, it looks OK painted..lol ;)

That applies to the NC24

As you can see the rear-downpipes are integrated into the collectorbox and run down the back of the engine to a collectorbox that sits underneath the sump. (the fronts come off)

Not only is is extremly difficult to even undo the nuts at the rear (the NC24 shock is in the middle, not offset like the 30 one, which allows for the exhausts and heatshield is in the way)

You can't get it out and off without getting the engine out. (maybe if you took the swingarm off but i've never done it this way)

RCV4's stainless steel collectorbox has slip joints on the rear so once you have the old one off you can bolt this one into place and remove it leaving the rear headers on the bike ;)

Good work on the polishing.
The BBQ paint does actually look OK, even though I thought it would look shizzle.
100% a 1/2 Yam system with OEM headers and rear manifold. Had one myself with the pleasure of polishing it.

update:

finished this a few weeks back but forgot to get pics on here and here is what it looks like,
there rear headers are bandage free as i couldnt get it back in as i couldnt move the collars back, and thanks to hondas silly popsitioning on the studs i left it with just BBQ paint on the rear header.

Bit late on here but i've seen quite a few Yamamoto systems around here (including the one I removed my my NC30) that has bracing in the same place, i'm guessing it's a later desgin after the first one craked?

What's the reason for bandaging the pipes?

I can see the logic in painting or polishing, to make it look nice, but why the bandage?

@ Neo - that bracing was put on by my local exhaust maker after IO got the large hole in it repaired.

Yamamoto systems are nice and light..but they are prone to cracking. I've had 3 now...and all of them weren't 100% solid.

They are great sounding
