I cleaned and keyed up the caliper best I could, then gave it all a good spray with brake cleaner to remove all the shit.

Masked up then sprayed in light coats with a heater on it inbetween coats. Left to dry for 24 hours then baked in the oven using the instructions on the can.

Job jobbed :peace:

Same way

Just one thing though, I would buy new disc bolts as old ones have tendency to snap off in the wheel when you torque them up.

:plus:

Have a whel with 3 snapped bolts , didnt even get to torquing them up and they had hardly gone tight before they snapped
I find that this usually happens when previous owners have used threadlock on the bolts/wheel threads. I never use it on disc bolts.

A dusting of clear laqure will help protect them after you have polished them, it will keep the oxyigen and slow down any rusting.

I know axle ain't great but its a lot better than it was
Oh yeah and just to make you laugh after i put the callipers back together and i had torqued them up I noticed 2 little seals sitting on my side :o oh boulder dash I said now there I was worrying about chipping the paint on the torx's bolts which I didn't do but now I have to undo them again :sshh: it's bound to be the wrong 1 that I take apart but I was fortunate and I still managed not to chip the paint  , cleaned up insides of my forks and calliper mounts just got to get the autosol out and finish them off, gave the wheel a little tcut I really need to get them sprayed/powder coated their looking a little rough but that will have to wait.
