I took my other halfs NC23 out today, I've only ever been around the block to make sure it's been ok after doing little jobs.
Anyway the bike felt rather slow, It rev's ok but just seems a little flat and slower than I would expect. Now I had a NC30 which was my first big bike, I remember that being a flying machine. I'm not sure if it's because I've got used to the grunt of my Aprilia RSV or whether the little CBR is restricted. It does feel to me to be around 30 odd horse power. As I balanced the carbs yesterday I dont remember seeing any restriction in there, I could see the butterflies when lifting up the cv piston up and it gets full throttle.
Did these bikes get restricted via the ECU? It's got a mph converter on so not in the speedo head.
Any thoughts guys?

Re: Restricted CBR
If ots got an MPH convertor then its not restricted, the only other way I can think of is if its got 33bhp restriction washers in the carb rubbers?

Re: Restricted CBR
I suppose that is possible? I intend on giving the carbs an ultra sonic clean in the near future. It just didn't feel like it should (from what I remember of my VFR.... I didnt need to ride that on the throttle stop to overtake!)

Re: Restricted CBR
Took the airbox off and stuck a torch down the carbs and theres no restriction in there, The CDI has a gold sticker KY2 Lot 8222 on it.
I've taken off the mph converter, it might be deceptive when the needle is so far down the clocks.

Re: Restricted CBR
If it has a gold cdi it isn't restricted then, only other way could be washers in carb rubbers I think.
