Chinese screen brace
Evening all.
I gave in a while back and bought a new Chinese copy screen brace off fleabay (oem ones seemed unobtainable at the time)
But now everything is assembled I notice that the cross-member across the frame seems to sit higher than a stock item, and when you apply full lock the top yoke clashes with this part of the brace.
Anyone else found similar issues? Surely it couldn't fail MOT for this?
Thanks
Vic

Re: Chinese screen brace
I should imagine it would fail the MOT if the yoke is hitting the brace, it means something is interferring with the steering right.vic-vtrvfr wrote:Evening all.

Re: Chinese screen brace
The cross member sits too high, would need cut off & welded closer to correct position, dont think it'd bend enough to clear sufficiently.
Bought it cos I wanted to maintain the oem look but genuine ones seemed like rocking horse poop at the time.
It'll do in the meantime & i'll keep my eyes out for a Honda part.

I've never had anyone test steering full lock to lock at an MOT here Vic. Give it a go and see.

Re: Chinese screen brace
Hi, i got a alli screen brace off rick o, Is dead well made and doesnt hit the tank or the yoke. Anyway unless its hiting the yoke alot i wouldnt think it'd be a problem really, unless there really been picky or at a main dealer or something.
I'd try and do a bit of tweaking and try and get it out the way but there isnt alot of room between the tank and yoke, just be carefull bending alli it snaps easily.
Cheers
Ian

Re: Chinese screen brace
We at Tyga could possibly produce a stock shaped steel one similar to the ones we do for the T10 upper fairing. http://tyga-performance.com/site/produc ... ts_id=1948
Not boasting but... I reckon our welder does a better job of them than Honda and they will definitely be better than the Chinese stuff and needn't be that expensive. Need a bit of a show of hands first though please.

Re: Chinese screen brace
Paul,
Given the recent upsurge of Wanted ads looking for braces, I'd say that might be a good idea!
Can you give an estimate of price & how many orders you'd need?
Thanks
