You do know that petrol should be nowhere near the oil. To get into the engine the petrol has to go from the tank, through the carb, beyond the piston and rings to get into the oil. If your bike reeks of fuel then that'll be the fueling, not the oil inside.
For the petrol to get down there the issue you'll have will most likely be one of the following,
A free flowing fuel tap (HRC modified) or,
Float bowl not cutting off the fuel when full,
The comment about the degreased engine is to do with inside the motor, not the external parts.

yep as viper stated above , if you suspect petrol in the oil then there is a chain of possibilitys
HRC tap mod where it does away with the vaccume portion of the fuel tap and gravity feed to the carbs (more bother than its worth)
if thats been done the carbs could over fill (especially if you have a worn/stuck float valve/s)
thus leaking fuel into the cylinder/s it then seeps down past the rings into the motor contaminating the oil

i may just be paranoid will have a proper investigation when i do the oil change
