shock let down!

Post by clearblu » Tue Feb 28, 2012 7:38 pm

Hi everyone, I havent posted for ages as I've been working abroad (apologies to unanswered pms) and the vfr came with me but will tell the story of that in a diffrent post as it's a good one. Problem is my old 21's shock decided damping was overated after nearly 8k of intercontinental travel. What is the best cheap replacement or would using fleabay to source a 24 (I know it'll be slightly diffrent ride wise)
Thanks as always
Gareth
and it's nice to have uncenscored web access again! :peace:

hi thanks for your pm . i had same problem with my shock not so long ago.
i got one off ebay 27£ for a nc21 had no probs since depends on how much
you wont to spend. 300£ for a new one its a bit steep?
plus i dont think u will tell much differnce between a nc21 shock or a nc24
and as long as it get u back on the road. u can keep your eye out for a 21s shock
or save up for an uprated one ie {hagon} ;)
ps u will go blind

Hi John, did you have to remove swing arm to remove and fit the new shock? Can't figure it out if you do or not or can you remove the shock upwards after femoving the tool/battery tray? Any info' greatly appreciated.
