Paul they aint plastic! they be'ith pure GOLD!
in all seriousness they are like a solid alloy block id assume for heat dissipation,
when i sold mine i didnt use the bold claims but did state i believed it raised the RPM, improved ignition map, and aided to remove the flat spot, etc etc
didnt say it would increase the top end or BHP, so i was fairly honest.
some guy in germany bought it, i sold it to fund my ignitech
bold claims by ebay seller hrc magic box = 150 mph

who did the back to back dyno on these, was it chris at dynopro and as expected it made no difference but it lost the 115 mph top speed limit. so exactly the same results as either trimming the speedo disk, resistor or any of the free alternatives.

Without wanting to open a can of warms, I've seen exactly the same thing with an rvf hrc cdi... make of it what you will.CRM wrote:who did the back to back dyno on these, was it chris at dynopro and as expected it made no difference but it lost the 115 mph top speed limit. so exactly the same results as either trimming the speedo disk, resistor or any of the free alternatives.

I also Believe that Neosophist dismantled one and found there to be a little more than a resistor within,CRM wrote:who did the back to back dyno on these, was it chris at dynopro and as expected it made no difference but it lost the 115 mph top speed limit. so exactly the same results as either trimming the speedo disk, resistor or any of the free alternatives.
it really is a bit of a grey area with this particular HRC part, as said in the past why did they go to the effort for some thing for racing that weighs much more than that of a 22p resistor it makes no sence tbh.

You know what i swopped my HRC and standard CDI on the 35 back to back and again couldn't tell any difference really. perhaps the rev limit which is not really applicable on the road with a standard engine. maybe better suited to a tuned larger CC motor ?Cammo wrote:Without wanting to open a can of warms, I've seen exactly the same thing with an rvf hrc cdi... make of it what you will.CRM wrote:who did the back to back dyno on these, was it chris at dynopro and as expected it made no difference but it lost the 115 mph top speed limit. so exactly the same results as either trimming the speedo disk, resistor or any of the free alternatives.

Re: bold claims by ebay seller hrc magic box = 150 mph
I busted one apart.. there was a little bit more in there than just a resistor though.
The only thing I can think of is that it statically altered the ignition timing by a specific amount, but even if this is the case its' only going to be of benefit to a fully HRC kit bike.
For the general NC30 man
Take the 100gbp.
Buy 4 new carb rubbers (20gbp)
Remove the speedo, dismantle and cut the speedo disc off (free)
Reset float heights to 6.8mm... pilot screws to 2 -> 2.5 turns out
clean all carb orifices.
Drill out throttle slide to 2.5mm
Re-jet if needed 115/118 or 118/120.
Vaccum balance carbs.
So 20gbp + 10gbp if jets are needed so you save between 70 and 80gbp and have a perfect running bike that isnt top speed limited
