My CB400 NC36 handlebars start to vibrate when I go faster than 60 MPH and over 6000 revs. It is annoying because it gives my hands a funny buzz after a long ride and also the mirrors shake so the image of my rear is fuzzy. Before Aaron nips in, yes I fitted the stainless steel bar weights that he suggests buying off ebay. 400 gram instead of 200 gram, it makes a difference at lower speed under 60 mph. And yes, handlebar bolts are tightened up. I did fit other mirrors: OEM Honda mirrors for the old CB400 / CB750, round on stalks. I remember that with the original mirrors the problem was similar.
Any suggestions?
Cheers, Mansie

Re: Vibration
Might possibly be to do with wheel balancing or having a small dent in the wheel.....
Mine also does the same thing....

Re: Vibration
Thanks for the reply. I had the wheels professionally respoked and rebalanced last year, with tyres on. Since then I've done some 500 kms. I could crank the bike up and spin the wheels around to see if there is something uneven.BUGIE wrote:Might possibly be to do with wheel balancing or having a small dent in the wheel.....

Re: Vibration

Makes sense. At one stage the headlight of a mate's bike looked like a doughnut in the mirror.zimm wrote:high frequency vibration is often carb balance.
Any info on carb balancing? My friend has a carb balancer so I could ask him.
