Post by lathemaster » Tue Aug 31, 2010 11:42 pm

Hi all,my first post,im pup with computers so excuse any errors.I'd like your opinions on the cbr.I'm an rgv owner but it's been laid up for over 2 yrs now, kind of lost interest in it after broken collar bone but the urge for 2 wheels is too strong!I now want a 4-stroke bike,my local dealer has a black F plate NC 23 [88]I think 23000 ish km.I've been back to the shop 3 times now,I'm v.tempted,he's got £1450 otr on the screen.Would appreciate your comments. If its been looked after and the dealer gives you warranty etc I dont think you will be dissapointed, they are quick, light and nimble, look great and are classics so you aint gonna lose thousands on it (mainly cause u aint spending them in the first place - doh).

I have an 88 NC23 - ebay job- i paid a lot less than what that one is up for but then again mine has 3 times as many km on the clock. They are a great bike as a stepping stone to a bigger bike, thats why i bought mine anyway.

Great bikes with great build quality hence there are still some good ones out there, 1500 quid is the high end for one of these but from a dealer and if its got history etc well worth a punt but make sure you know what you are looking at!!!!!.. I would also budget for a fork rebuild inc seals, springs and oil and also a shock rebuild or replacement as they are more often than not over looked and never get done. Most rear shocks are fecked on these bikes as they come out the container after first importation due to being compressed for months on end on the trip over and hardly ever get rebuilt unless the bike ends up with a enthusiastic owner..

Do you have a link or a pic of the bike????
