NC30 Problem

Post by lazyboydobby » Fri May 28, 2010 12:37 pm

I seem to be having a problem with my nc30 (VFR400). The main problem is that it seems to be starving itself of fuel. Underneeth the fuel tank that is what only can be discribled as a box with the fuel tap attached. Inside this "box" there is a few rubber diaphrams, at one side there is fuel out pipe and the other side of the diapram a small nipple. and above is the fuel inlet from the tank itself. I presume that the "nipple" is a vacuum pipe with moves the diaphram and stops fuel when the bike is not running.

I have checked the pipe and there are no leaks and have cleaned the "box".

It seemed to work fine for a day or so and has now stopped working again.

Will the bike run fine if i remove the diaphram or will i have problems with flooding??

Thanks

Do a search for HRC fuel tap mod and you will find all you need to know. First though you should find out why your standard tap isn't working. You may have a split in the vacuum hose that goes to the tap. You can check by taking the tank off the bike, turning the fuel tap on and suck on the vacuum hose. Fuel should flow, if it doesn't, there is a problem with the tap.
