Hi, lately I have noticed a very light leak coming from the petrol tap on my bike, it seems to be coming from the top of the tap where it screws into the tank. I tried tightening it up but it does seem to be there, especially after I fill the tank, I have tried cleaning the threads and even used some threadlock to no avail. Im assuming there is a o ring of sorts where the tank mates with the tap (forgot to look). So does anyone know what I would need to stop this leak or better still if there is a part number for the part I imagine is there. cant look at the fiche at the moment as Im at work. Other than a new part what would be the best course of action, such as a sealant etc.

Re: fuel tap leak
I think there should be a large diameter o-ring in there, as a temporary measure I think some plumbers PTFE tape might hold up for a bit, but would prefer to fix it properly first :)

Re: fuel tap leak
Hi, well I have not been able to look into this yet, due to work but will hunt around for some PTFE tape tonight in the Plumbers maintainance room. A bloke at work said I could try some ThreeBond, looking around it seems to be just the job if I cant locate the source of the leak with a new washer.
