RVF on the track a few questions

Post by NcOz » Fri Apr 23, 2010 1:52 pm

Hi,

I first came on this is site about 4 years ago when i got my NC35 but have not been back since!

I am now looking to use my RVF on the track and just wanted a bit of advice on mods, i have already done some home work and spoken to a few people:

First of all i am going for 520 14/42 gearing - does this sound right? I know if i am really keen i should change it for different tracks, but i am only riding round for fun!

Then suspension, i know my standard rear shock is a bit tired - is it worth just getting it rebuilt? or what aftermarket shocks are good? I have heard Nitron are good value.

I have track fairings, braided lines, race can and tyres all sorted, any other cost effective mods i should know of?

Thanks.

Alright mate ;)

I'd go for 14/41 as there are rumlbings about the 1/3 ratio of a 14/42.

14/41 is plenty fast for most tracks, Mallory, Cadwell etc.

I'll mail you the HRC manual - but you can raise the rear ride height using a U shaped spacer on top of the shock..

job jobbed...when you coming for a play out? 8-)
