Hi guys,
My missus went on her 1st track day and loved it. Unfortunately some rossi wannabe ignored the fact she had a yellow bip and an instructor was behind her and decided to cut her up on a hairpin.
Now, it would be ok if he actually made the hairpin instead of pulling right infront of the missus and then emergency braking...
well, what followed was to avoid him, she ran off the hairpin into the grass and fell at slow speeds. Minor damage so all is well and she went out on the next session.
I've been trying to browse through ebay for some parts but can not find any and wondering if someone might have some spares or know which place to best get them
1. She lost the right airtube. Now, only ones on ebay are carbon ones for 130 which is silly. I've removed the other right now and if someone has a right hand one please pm me. Otherwise, is it ok to run without the ram air?
2. her screen brace is slightly bent and we've bent it back and stuck around with duck tape. Would someone have a road screen brace lying around? Only 1 i can see on ebay is some cheap one from hong kong... Not sure abuot that... hmmm.
3. Other than that, its minor cosmetic damage which she'll have to live with for now.
4. I'm planning to do an oil/oil filter change before her next track day. I need oil, filter and what else? Is there any type of washer under the plug etc?
5. When she purchased the bike, it had some dodgy bar ends which promtly fell off. Do you know where I can get some bar ends? I'm not sure if oem are screwed or pushed in? I tried looking on R&G website but they don't list one. Does anyone know if its shared with another model that IS listed?
Many thanks guys. Please pm me if you have any parts:)

I have some NC35 upper stays we do aluminium at £49.00 or steel at £39.00 (painted black like standard) air tubes are very hard to come by these days.

Can't help with parts, sorry - but the OEM ones on the RVF are push-fit plastic affairs! Little more than bungs, in fact! This might help you in you can buy them new from any dealer, and they costs literally pence.Etherion wrote: 5. When she purchased the bike, it had some dodgy bar ends which promtly fell off. I have a couple of airtubes – (two sets) OEM , not damaged , just not mint. I’ll be sticking them on ebay soon, so if you’re prepared to wait, they’ll appear!
The alternative is to get some from David Silvers - the only irony is that RHS tubes are twice as expensive as the left, and will rush you the princely sum of fifty nine pounds and forty one pence (go figure!) and are factory-order items.
(and to the make the dry-bumming experience truly memorable, you get hosed on the postage too – I’ve been walking like John Wayne for the past two weeks……)
FYI : The airtubes on the 400 are cosmetic, they don’t perform a ram-air function.
HTH
P.S
Another alternative in the form of G.France of this parish can probably sort you out with some clean s/h tubes.....

Hi Etherion, Was this trackday at Rockingham and you were on the tasty Duke? If so I saw you guys there and saw your missus come off, really unfortunate as she was doing well. Fair play to her for going out the next session and an even bigger bummer that she came a cropper on the same corner again. Hope it didn't dent her confidence and she's up for doing another track day again. Can only suggest keeping your eyes peeled on ebay or hang around on here for a while as things like air tubes do sometimes crop up. As Quicksilver has said Graeme France is a good person to contact about spares, you'll find his details on the site if you search for him. Good luck with the search.
